Website Maintenance & Support

Care of existing websites, technical adjustments, bug fixing and ongoing maintenance — so your site stays secure, up to date and reliably available.

Your website stays secure, up to date and available

A website is never truly “finished”. Updates, backups, security issues and small changes come up all the time. With website care I take these tasks off your desk so you can focus on your core business — instead of running plugin updates at midnight.

Regular maintenance instead of nasty surprises

Core, theme and plugin updates are applied in a controlled way, backups run automatically and availability is monitored. If something looks off, it gets fixed before it becomes a problem.

One contact for everything

Instead of mediating between host, agency and developer, you have one fixed point of contact. Small text edits, new content or technical questions — short paths, fast answers.

What a typical maintenance month looks like

To make the care plans tangible, here is the actual rhythm behind them: weekly I review and apply pending core, theme and plugin updates — larger version jumps are tested on a staging copy first, never on the live system. Daily backups run to external storage, kept separate from the web server, with 30 days of retention. Availability is checked every 5 minutes; if the site goes down, I get an alert immediately — often before you or your customers notice anything. Once a month you receive a short report: what was updated, how load time and security are trending, and what is coming up next.

A real case: hacked vs. maintained

Two WordPress sites, the same vulnerability in a widely used plugin. The unmaintained site was compromised: spam redirects, a malware warning on Google, days of cleanup — in the end more than 1,500 euros in costs, plus the trust lost with every customer who landed on a red warning page. The maintained site had the patch applied within 24 hours of release; the incident simply never reached it. That is the real value of maintenance: not the updates themselves, but the problems that never happen.

Response times you can plan around

Clear commitments instead of vague promises — this is how I prioritise incoming issues:

  • Site down or hacked: response usually within a few hours, weekends included.
  • Broken functionality (checkout, forms, login): handled the same working day.
  • Small changes and content updates: typically within 1–2 working days.

When I take over an existing website, I start with a short technical check. If there is a lot of legacy baggage, a technical consulting session beforehand makes sure problems get fixed rather than carried along.

Website maintenance & care — secure, up to date and available

Ongoing website maintenance decides whether your website stays secure, fast and available over the long term. A website is never truly “finished”: updates, backups, security issues and small changes come up constantly. With professional website care I take on these tasks reliably — so you can focus on your core business instead of running plugin updates at the weekend.

Updates, backups and security

Outdated systems are the most common entry point for hacking attacks. I apply core, theme and plugin updates in a controlled way, set up automatic backups with tested restores and keep an eye on security. Problems get fixed before they lead to downtime or data loss.

Maintenance plan for WordPress, WooCommerce & OpenCart

Whether WordPress maintenance, the care of a WooCommerce shop or an OpenCart shop — a maintenance plan gives you planning certainty at a fixed monthly scope. Alternatively I bill by actual effort. In both cases you get a fixed point of contact instead of anonymous ticket systems.

One contact for care and changes

Instead of mediating between host, agency and developer, you handle everything through one point of contact: text edits, new content, technical questions or small extensions — short paths, fast answers and priority support in case of a fault. That keeps your website in a maintained, stable and up-to-date state over the long term.
